About Anglo American
Founded in 1917, Anglo American has evolved into a world-leading mining company. Their sharpened focus on core commodities—Iron Ore, Coal, Base Metals (Copper, Nickel, Niobium, Phosphates), Platinum, and Diamonds—drives their rapid adoption of advanced technologies to optimize operations. Anglo American, with 69,000 employees, reported approximately EUR 25 billion in revenue. Their vision to be a world-leading mining company fuels the swift integration of advanced technologies for operational optimization.
SpectraFlow Crossbelt Analyzer: Optimizing Iron Ore Operations
The SpectraFlow Crossbelt Analyzer delivers high-frequency, real-time measurements of raw materials on conveyor belts. As run-of-mine (ROM) material is processed through a crusher, it becomes statistically homogeneous, ensuring highly accurate analytical results. This precision enables comprehensive monitoring of ROM feed into the plant, even with highly variable raw materials, without compromising downstream quality.
Key Benefits of the SpectraFlow Analyzer:
Ultra-High Measurement Frequency: 150 measurements per minute (every 420 ms) for real-minute results, not averages.
Simple Integration: Easy to install, operate, and maintain.
Safety First: No radioactive sources, neutron generators, or hazardous components. This eliminates the need for permits or licenses, simplifying import, operation, and maintenance, and reducing operational costs. Maintenance can be performed by operational personnel.
Enhanced Monitoring: Enables comprehensive ROM monitoring, allowing the use of highly variable raw materials while maintaining consistent plant feed quality.
This latest order boosts our global installed base to over 90 analyzers (51 Crossbelt & 41 Airslide) across 30 countries on all continents.
SpectraFlow Analytics Ltd. Switzerland is the industry expert in online analysis for the cement and minerals sectors. Our NIR technology requires no radioactive sources or neutron generators, eliminating permits, licenses, and import restrictions. This translates to low operating costs, high analyzer availability, and superior measurement accuracy.
