SPECTRAFLOW ANALYTICS RECEIVES ORDER FOR A CROSSBELT ANALYZER FOR STOCKPILE OPTIMIZATION FROM TABUK CEMENT, SAUDI ARABIA

Tabuk Cement ordered one SpectraFlow Crossbelt Analyzer to replace the existing PGNAA analyzer installed after the crusher to optimize their stockpile blending. The existing PGNAA analyzer is replaced due to the difficult handling of radioactive materials and the associated high costs in operation and maintenance. Additional benefits are, that no longer a radiation officer on site and multiple permits and licenses are required, when using the SpectraFlow Analyzer in future.
With this replacement Tabuk Cement is reducing its operational costs for the analyzer significantly and makes the company completely independent of handling radioactive material. As governmental restrictions for radioactive analyzer are ever increasing, the new SpectraFlow Analyzer will guarantee a long-term trouble-free online analysis at the highest level of performance.
About Tabuk Cement, Duba plant:
The company owns a factory located on Al-Bad' Highway next to Duba Port, 30 km away from Duba city, and headquarters of the General Administration in the city of Tabuk. Through its factory, the company is engaged in a series of major activities to achieve higher production with more efficiency and quality, in order to promote building activities and to contribute to the infrastructure development.
Products of Tabuk Cement Company include Portland Cement, Sulphate Resisting Cement and Pozzolan Cement and its derivatives. A continuous online monitoring of the quarry feed is an integral part of this strategy to maintain an excellent quality while optimizing the production costs.
SpectraFlow Installation for Quarry/Stockpile Optimization:
The SpectraFlow Crossbelt Analyzer is an online analyzer to be able to measure raw materials on belt conveyors. As raw materials from the quarry are processed through a crusher the raw material on the conveyor belt is statistically homogeneous and therefore the analytical results of the SpectraFlow Crossbelt Analyzer are highly accurate.
By using a SpectraFlow Crossbelt analyzer and a site-specific blending strategy the high variation in the local raw materials shall be balanced out to increase consistency of the stockpile quality. Also a variable MgO, Na2O, K2O, Cl and SO3 content of the quarry can be optimally monitored.
Summarized benefits are:
The analyzer is free of any radioactive sources, neutron generators or any hazardous components. This means the SpectraFlow Analyzer does not require any permits or licenses regarding importation, operation or maintenance.
The SpectraFlow Analyzer is completely safe, maintenance can be done by the plant personal.
Stockpile quality will be homogeneous and on setpoint. That results in stable and low additive consumption at the raw mill.
Stable feed from the stockpile leads to stable raw mill operation and fine raw meal/clinker quality.
This SpectraFlow order is the 48th order for the Cement Industry. This order raises the installed base in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to 6 analyzers (6 Crossbelt) and worldwide to 70 analyzers (40 Crossbelt & 30 Airslide).
SpectraFlow Analytics Ltd. Switzerland are the experts in providing online analysis for the cement, bauxite, gold, platinum, copper, potash, phosphate, coal and other minerals industries without any radioactive sources nor neutron generators. The NIR technology used for the SpectraFlow Analyzers is not requiring any permits or licenses and there are no restrictions in buying, importing or maintaining the analyzers. This results in very low operating costs and high availability of the analyzers combined with highly accurate measurement results.
